Department of Accounting Faculty of Economics, University of Brawijaya (DAFEB UB) was established in 1977 based on SK. Director General of Education No 835/DJ/77. DAFEB has extensively developed collaborations with the Accounting Departments of leading Universities in the world, the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI), and several public accounting firms in developing relevant education. DAFEB was also appointed as one of the 6 leading National Universities with accountant majors entitled to carry out the State Accounting Examination (UNA). 

DAFEB UB, UPIA, MPIA, and DPIA are audited by national accreditation institutions, which is the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) as well as international accreditation institutions such as the Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow (ABEST21) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
