Accounting Profession Education Program University of Brawijaya (PPAk UB) was established in 2 December 2002 based on SK Pendirian Program Nomor: 3569/D/T/2002. PPAK establishment was also a response to the enactment of Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional Republik Indonesia Nomor 179/U/2001 about The Establishment of Accounting Profession Education Program. PPAk UB began accepting students in the second semester of 2002/2003, and the entire students came from outside of Accounting Department University of Brawijaya.
Starting from August 2004, after the enactment of Kepmendiknas no.179 tahun 2001, PPAk UB began accepting graduates of Accounting Department University of Brawijaya. At first, PPAk UB was lead by Dr. Erwin Saraswati, Ak., CPMA. From 2005 until now, PPAk UB is lead by Dr. Zaki Baridwan, Ak., CA.
Until now, PPAk UB has succeed to get two (2) times renewal period with maximum renewal period which is five (5) years from Komite Evaluasi Rekomendasi Pendidikan Profesi Akuntansi (KERPPA) Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia, which are:
- For accreditation that held by Badan Akreditasi Nasional – Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT), recently we are still on progress to prepare the documents for the accreditation. In the meanwhile, current accreditation will be expired in December 2014.
- Based on physical evaluation that held on Wednesday, 24 October 2012, by Prof. Dr. Indra Wijaya Kusuma, Ak. & Dr. Khomsiyah, Ak., PPAk UB got score 940 out of 1000. Based on that, PPAk regain the extension of operating licenses for five (5) years, starting from September 2012 up to 2017.
